Chris has been an Approved Instructor for ten years, is a member of RoSPA, and the Institute of Advanced Motorists as an Advanced Driver. Pamela has a 26 year background in motorsport, where she has helped drivers to improve their abilities. Though Pamela now uses her knowledge and skills in the more sedate atmosphere of training new drivers be safe and legal on the roads.
We are both members of the Drivers Instructors Association and subscribe to their code of conduct, and to that requested by the Driving & Vehicle Standards Agency. We both take pride in making sure that our training is at the cutting edge of driver development. To this end we have both studied Coaching For Driver Development. New drivers are unfortunately more prone to becoming a statistic on the Governments KSI (Killed and Seriously Injured) indicator.
We know that parents wish their children to be safe when learning, and more importantly, safe after their test. The Coaching For Driver Development, is designed to ensure that, as your Instructor we can identify and remedy errors caused by thoughts and feelings of the individual driver.

Driving Lessons

After initial introductions, we will drive to a quiet road out of the way of any difficult junctions or heavy traffic where we swap seats.
At the start of the lesson we will go some basic safety checks you need to do before starting the engine.
These include adjusting the mirrors, putting on the seat belt and making sure that the gear lever is in neutral.
I'll then talk you through all the major controls and describe how each different element fits together to give good co-ordination whilst moving off and stopping.
