Neil Carter's Driving School
Before becoming an instructor, I worked for several years as a freelance artist, illustrating stories for several publications, as well as a book. I also sold (and still do) limited edition prints of my ink drawings of local historical buildings and churches. In 2001, i decided to take the plunge, and train as a driving instructor I started my career in 2002 with the AA.

After about 18 months, i took the decision to go independent, which I still am today. I still enjoy drawing, and have done a selection of ink drawings, mainly related to craft beer, which is a passion of mine. My main aim as your driving instructor is to train & develop you into a confident and competent driver who can then go on and pass the driving test.

As the DVSA's logo states - 'Safe Driving for Life' not just for your driving test! As a DVSA requirement, I have undergone the Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) check in order to remain on the register for approved driving instructors. I am also bound by the DVSA's professional code of conduct.

If you would like to be picked up from work/school/college I will try to accomodate this wherever possible, as long as it is within my normal working area.
When I arrive for your 1st lesson, I will need to check your entitlement to drive.
This can be done prior to your 1st lesson, by going to the DVLA website, getting your details up, and then sending a link to my email address.
Block bookings of 12 hours for the price of 11 hours.
If you wish to find out more about the block lessons i provide please get in touch and ill be happy to assist you with any questions you may have.

Statistics show that new drivers are more likely to have an accident in the two years after passing their test due to the lack of driving experience.
The Pass Plus course is designed to build on the skills and knowledge already gained leading up to the driving test.
Anyone can take the Pass Plus course, though it is primarily aimed at the newly qualified driver.
There is no test at the end of the course.
However, a minimum standard must be achieved by the pupil.
The report form is filled out by me and then signed by both the pupil and myself before being sent to the DSA.
