On Fire For Driving
We are top-grade, enthusiastic driving instructors who will adapt to your requirements. Folk with integrity, who won't overcharge, hold back your progress or play on your nerves and will make the whole process fun, confidence-building and satisfying. On Fire pride ourselves on our patient, relaxed style and high first pass rate.

Using constantly-evolving, innovative teaching aids, we don't simply get you through your test; we make sure other people will want to be driven by you, and other drivers will want to share the road with you.Sound good? Our programme of driving tuition will ensure that you will be confident, capable, knowledgeable and able to deal with the unexpected.

You've probably seen us zipping around in our lively black 'n' yellow cars. Who's to know we're not all dash and no pass, eh? Easy - everything we state can be verified; we're fully qualified ADIs, our client pass rate is recorded at every Driving and Vehicle Standards Agency Test Centre we use, and we're a Member of the DVSA's voluntary Continuing Professional Development programme.
Services
On Fire is an independent Scottish driving school that commenced business in 2011 and specialises in adaptive learner driver training.
The company is based in Irvine, North Ayrshire, Scotland.
On Fire was created by John Ryan, a Grade A Driving and Vehicle Standards Agency Approved Instructor, a member of the Motor Schools Association and the ADINJC.
John was previously an instructor with BSM, but felt the need for a new approach to learner driver tuition which could only be achieved as an independent.
We're finding that we're ending up teaching whole families to drive, their friends, and then their relations!
Amounts can vary to cover one extra lesson for a birthday, anniversary or thank-you present, right up to big amounts to cover large sections of your darlin's driving course.
To order, simply telephone or email us to arrange, with either next day delivery by our lovely selves, or First Class recorded (pretty reliably next day round these parts).
John started life as an Electronic Engineer with Cisco and then moved on into the IT industry, but he began to realise that this way of working really didn't suit.
Being an enthusiastic biker and driver, he decided to take a risk, do something he really liked, and train as a driving instructor.
Having achieved PDI level, he promptly went on to complete training as a fully-qualified ADI.
He cut his teeth working with probably the best-known and most respected learner school in the UK, BSM, previously the RAC's driver training arm.
We recognise that different people, of different ages, learn in different ways; if you're younger, or of an independent mind, you may prefer a 'coaching' style of driving lessons, where you're asked to identify where you can improve a particular aspect of your driving.
If you're more cautious, or prefer a more structured approach, you may be more comfortable with an instructional style; 'Do this.' 'That's ok, but try it again this way.' 'Better.
Let's do it again and get it polished.'
Here you have everything you'll cover on the road at your fingertips; an easy overview from which to plan how you approach your driving tuition, review your progress and clarify uncertainties.
We've tried to cover everything a prospective On Fire learner driver might want to know here, but we may have missed a few things, or you may have a very particular requirement.
If you don't find precisely what you want to know, simply call or email us - we won't try to flog you a course of lessons.
We will purely answer your questions, honestly, and let you make your own decision.
One of the most frequent, and natural, questions we're asked is 'How long, i.e. how much money will it take, to get me to test standard?'
