Driving lessons are designed around each pupil's requirements, but the key elements of the driving lesson will be based upon teaching safe defensive driving to provide each pupil with not only the key skills to pass their driving test but also a platform to develop their driving skills throughout their lives.
Standard driving lessons are 1 hour or 1 & 1/2 hours long in a manual car; however longer driving lessons are often beneficial when starting out, carrying out mock tests and on the test day itself, but as all pupils have different needs driving lessons and lengths are always tailored towards their requirements.
You will need your driver number from your provisional licence and a credit / debit card to pay.
For further information on the theory test, please see the Theory Test section on what to expect during the test.
Once you have your provisional licence and have passed your Theory Test, you can then apply for your Practical Driving Test.
For further information on what to expect on your driving test, the independent section and much more, see the Practical Test section.
Pass Plus is an extra six hour driving course for pupils who have passed the driving test.
Show Me Tell Me is the name given to the technical / safety questions asked by a driving examiner in the practical driving test.
Below are a sample of these questions, but you will need to know the answers related to the car in which you take your test, which will normally be the same as the one you have had your lessons in.
Practical test routes - listed below are a sample of historical test routes for Cambridge, Letchworth and Stevenage.
These are subject to change at anytime.
Before you can apply for your practical test you need to pass the theory test, which is made up of two parts: multiple-choice questions and a hazard perception section.
Test cost - the theory test currently costs 23.
Booking your test - you need a valid provisional driving licence to take your theory test.
The first part of your theory test is a multiple-choice section designed to test your understanding of the rules of the road, including signs, road markings and appropriate reactions to situations.
