Services
Oundle Driving School helps you master the skills of driving in Northamptonshire and South Cambridgeshire through our range of Driving Lessons.
We will guide you through the 2 part theory test and following on with preparing you for the practical driving lessons.
Every driving session will include some feedback and suggested areas for you to work on in preparation for your next lesson.
Each driving session will be on a one to one basis with either a male or female instructor.
Our lessons times vary from 1hr, 1.5hrs or 2hrs to suit you and will concentrate on building the driving skills learned in previous lessons.
If you want to pass your driving test as quickly as possible then Oundle Driving School can provide Intensive Driving Lessons.
The DVSA recommends that a learner driver should have at least 45 hours of professional driver training with a further 22 hours private practice.
The traditional method of one hour lessons, once a week means it could take up to a year to be ready to sit your test.
We can offer you a variety of alternatives to speed up your progress.
Driving lessons could be longer than an hour and you could take your driving lessons more frequently than once a week.
There are three parts to passing your driving test.
Before you can take your Driving Test you need to pass the theory test which can be taken at any test centre.
Multiple choice this involves you answering 50 random questions (5 of these will be based on a scenario) using computer touch screen technology of which at least 43 need to be correct to gain a pass.
You will view a series of 14 one-minute video clips, each showing potential hazards involving road conditions, pedestrians or road users with 15 hazards to identify, and the quicker you can identify the hazard, the higher the score.
Passing your test is only the start of learning to drive.
There are all kinds of driving conditions you might not have encountered yet, including night driving, poor visibility and motorway driving.
Don't panic, this is where we come in.
We offer a specialist course to students whether they have learned to drive with this school or not.
This course lasts for a minimum of six lessons and there is no test at the end, just the instructor's assessment of whether you can handle these different types of conditions.
Our growing reputation means the demand for lessons is always increasing, and to meet that demand we're always on the lookout for the next addition to our friendly team of instructors.
Becoming a driving instructor has never been easier, and with Oundle & District Driving School there are no upfront fees for pursing your interest in joining our team.
We provide full comprehensive support through parts 1, 2 & 3 of the process and aim to be as flexible as possible around your own availability to help you pass the necessary modules in your own time and once you earn the necessary accreditations, you can join the Oundle driving instructor team and start earning at an hourly rate with your very own learners!
