The majority of pupils arrange their driving lessons as one or two hours per week, however there are people who may wish to learn over a quicker period, this is often called an intensive course or quick pass course, quite simply this just means you getting all your training arranged over periods of up to six weeks.
The DVSA Theory Test is actually in two parts.
You are required to pass both parts of the theory test before you can apply for your practical driving test.
The first part is a computerised multiple-choice test consisting of 50 questions of which you need to answer at least 43 questions correctly.
The second part is called the hazard perception test which consists of you watching 14 video clips as if you were driving the car, you are required to identify potential developing hazards as they occur.
What will happen on the day of my driving test?
On the day of your test your driving instructor from Students Driving School will normally pick you up from either your home, work or college.
The usual procedure from driving schools and driving instructors is for you to have a two hour lesson with the first hour being a final practice session followed by the second hour taking your test which will last about 40 to 45 minutes followed by dropping you off at home, work or college again.
Some people are understandably nervous about taking a test but there is nothing to worry about, treat your driving test just as just continuation of your driving lessons but with another person giving you route directions.
Pass Plus Courses are only available to newly qualified drivers and for pupils who have passed their driving tests in the last two years.
It is designed to help them become better drivers with an incentive to receive discounts on their first car insurance.
Students Driving Schools driving instructors are pass plus registered and they can conduct pass plus courses in your local areas.
After successfully completing a pass plus course you will be sent a pass plus certificate from the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA).
