With almost a quarter of a century of experience of getting people on the road in Mid Wales, we're confident that our knowledge combined with your enthusiasm and hard work is the key to your travel independence. We are often asked "How many driving lessons will I need?"
This is a question I can't answer as everyone learns at different rates. It also depends on whether you're having private practise, and your attitude towards driving. All we can say is that we will get you to the required standard so you will be safe on the road as quickly and cost effectively as we can. You will not have to have extra lessons that you do not need.

The Hendy Driving School began back in 1986 when I started training people to drive coaches on a part time basis.
I hold City & Guilds as well as NVQ qualifications in PCV training.
I also hold both LGV and PCV CPCs.
In 1994 I took a sideways step and qualified as a Driving Standards Agency Approved Driving Instructor (Car).
This is what our main business now consists of.
I really enjoy teaching people to drive and find it very rewarding.
I keep myself up to date on all aspects of my job and try to set an example in the way I drive and behave while behind the wheel.

The appointment card will be issued either before, or on the first lesson, clients are advised to carry the card so that at the end of the lesson their next appointment(s) can be entered.
Clients must personally ensure that they are the holders of a valid, signed current driving licence, which must be produced at the first lesson and will be regularly checked by the driving instructor.
Clients must inform their driving instructor if they receive any endorsements on their licence during the time they are receiving tuition.

Pass Plus is a course designed to give you a range of valuable driving experiences in complete safety.
You will encounter situations and problems that you have never faced before.
The length of the course is a minimum of 6 hours.
Anyone can take a Pass Plus Driving Course.
It is particularly useful to reduce the risk of being in a road accident and to boost the confidence of new drivers who are more likely to have a crash in their first two years of driving than any other time in their driving career.
You will encounter situations and problems that you have never faced before.
The length of the course is a minimum of 6 hours.
