Mike Del Grosso
I have been teaching pupils in Salisbury, Southampton and Winchester since 2004. Over that time, my pass rates have been consistently well above the national average, with most passing first time. My reputation at the Test Centre is for bringing well prepared pupils to test with every chance of passing. My lessons are fun as well as informative, creating a relaxed atmosphere to learn quickly in.

With over 16 years of experience, I have very good knowledge of what is required for you to pass your driving test and the best way for you to achieve it. I have obviously taught many pupils with a wide range of learning abilities, which means I can quickly tune in with your particular requirements and what will work best for you. Excellent communication skill are key to ensuring that I am able to explain the lessons with the good examples and apply the language that you can easily understand.

I am confident in my teaching methods, which have been built up over the last twelve years of experience, and have been very successful.

Learner drivers in England, Wales and Scotland will be allowed to have lessons on the motorway by next year, the government has announced.
If you are a young driver or you've recently passed your test, you could be facing an eye-watering quote for your car insurance if you do not have a black box fitted.
This is because most insurers base their premium calculations on a block of driver profiles and general statistical evidence - and, unfortunately, young and newly qualified drivers are statistically more likely to be involved in an accident than any other group.
Mike was a brilliant driving instructor to learn with teaching me not only to pass my test but to be able to drive safely after passing my test.
He is very considerate of new nervous drivers and has the perfect balance between pushing you but making sure you're ready for anything that could be thrown at you.
Mike was such a nice guy and made me feel confident behind the wheel.
He helped me with everything I struggled with and would recommend him to anyone who wants to learn.
Mike helped me become a confident driver by beginning with the basics and then building on the skills that I had learnt.
The current pass rate is only 47%.
For first timers, around 17%.
So less than 1 in 5 pass first time.
According to the DVSA, those who pass their driving test have had, on average, 45 hours of professional training, and 22 hours of private practice.
Now you know why your instructor is always making sure that you are using your mirrors and observations correctly!
Show me how you would check the brake lights are working on this car, (if you need to switch the ignition on, please don't start the engine).
Operate brake pedal, make use of reflections in windows, garage doors, etc, or ask someone to help, (may need to switch ignition on, prompt not to start engine).
Show me, or explain how you would check that the power assisted steering is working before starting a journey.
Gentle pressure on the steering wheel, maintained while the engine is started, should result in a slight but noticeable movement as the system begins to operate.
Pass Plus is a practical training course that takes at least 6 hours and is for drivers to improve their skills and drive more safely.
It can be taken at any time although it should be most useful to new drivers in the year after passing their test.
All modules should be practical sessions, although local conditions may mean some are theory based.
You'll normally spend at least 5.5 hours driving.
